- Email address: You will use your email address to log in to the website. We never display your email address to others who use the website, instead when a buyer or seller wants to contact you, or someone wants to ask a question about an item you are selling, they do so via the website. The website sends you an automated email so you know there's a message waiting for you.
- Public Username: Instead of revealing your true name to other users of the website, you will create an alternative, permanent user name which other users will identify you by. For example, your user name is shown on your item pages and to buyers and sellers you deal with while using the website. If you're a selling as a business, you will probably want to use your shop name or business name as your user name.
- Name and Address:
Your real name and address are both required and we may use that information to validate your identity by post. Supplying
wrong information will be considered a purposeful, fraudulant act and your account will be deleted.
If you are a buyer and pay by card, this will be considered your delivery address. This will be the only address automatically presented to the seller, once you have completed payment. The item will be posted to this address by the seller. It is your responsibility to ensure this address is accurate. If the item cannot be delivered and is returned to the seller, or lost, due to errors on your part, we may suspend your account while we investigate to protect other sellers.
As a seller, for transactions where the payment method is cash on collection, and once a collection time is agreed, you will click a button to reveal this address to the buyer, so the buyer may collect the item from you.
- Password: When you join, we send you a temporary password. You will be responsible for changing your password to something only you know. Your password is encrypted when we store it, not readable by anyone, so only you will know what it is. It is your responsibility to create a strong password, something no one else will be able to guess. If you forget it, you can request a password reset on the login page.
